Funeral service of Johannes Tselapedi underway

The special official provincial funeral service of former MEC for Education, Johannes Tselapedi is underway in the Civic Centre in Mahikeng in the North West.

Tselapedi died on Sunday following a short illness. He was 65-years-old.

Tselapedi was a former member of the executive of the North West Provincial Government.

At the time of his death, he was a councillor at Ngaka Modiri Molema District municipality as well as a member of the ANC’s Interim Provincial Committee in the North West.

Tselapedi also served as MEC for Transport and Agriculture.
He is a former speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature.
Amongst those in attendance are the Premier of the North West Job Mokgoro, members of the provincial legislature, leaders of different church denominations, and members of the ANC.
The ANC says Tselapedi’s name was among three names submitted to lead the North West, following Supra Mahumapelo’s resignation as Premier of the North West in 2018.
