Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan unveiled what he terms moderately expansionary budget plans for the coming three years. In his Medium Term Budget Policy Statement presented to Parliament on Tuesday, Gordhan says the country’s economic fundamentals remain sound, with economic growth of 3.1% expected this year.

SA government will introduce an economic support package to encourage competitiveness and promote structural change for firms

Gordhan also proposed a competitiveness support package of R25 billion over the next six years to boost industrial development, assist enterprises and accelerate job creation.
