Fuel prices will go up substantially at midnight.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has announced big hikes in the prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin.
Petrol will increase by R1,21 cents a litre, diesel by R1,48 cents a litre and Paraffin by R1,45 cents a litre.
The hikes were driven by the soaring international oil price and the weaker rand against the dollar.
Petrol has increased by more than R5 rand per litre since January.
