Fuel price blow for SA motorists

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The price of petrol for all grades will increase by 71 cents a litre from Wednesday midnight.

The hefty fuel hike had been expected as a result of higher international oil prices and the rand’s recent weakness against the US dollar, but it still comes as a blow to motorists planning long holiday journeys.

The Department of Energy says the latest increase will take the price of 95  octane petrol to R14.76 cents per litre inland, and R14.27 cents at the coast.

Diesel will increase by 60 cents to R12.95 cents a litre.
