Freedom Day celebrations draw thousands

Freedom Day celebrations are underway Dr Petros Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein with SANDF parade underway.

Thousands of South Africans continue to stream into the Dr Petros Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday.

South Africa celebrates years since the first democratic elections.

The country held its first democratic election on the 27th of in 1994.

Meanwhile, some elders living in this area have called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to address housing and corruption issues in this province.

President Ramaphosa is leading Freedom Day celebrations.

The government has called on everyone to attend the celebrations and fill the stadium but it’s the school pupils who have headed that call.

Meanwhile, bikers have been entertaining the crowds while the DJ has keeping people showcasing some of their best dance moves with loud music playing from big speakers.

Outside the stadium some people have setup stalls selling ANC, SACP and Cosatu branded clothing and other items.
