The 2018 edition of the Free State Women in Writing Seminar is set to be held this week.

This gathering of literary heads in the province is now in its second year. The event is put together by local female writers, publishers and booksellers.

The aim is to grow the area’s level of literature by sharing, engaging and finding strategic ways of getting more people to adopt reading and writing culture.

Sesotho writer and publisher Angela De Wee says their main focus is to get more women into writing and publishing their work,” We want to reach as many people as possible especially in black community.”

Co-host of Women in Writing Seminar Charmaine Mrwebi says Women writers have amazing stories,” it’s important that we have books written in our language.”
