Free State police say they want to ensure that communities have a safe festive season with more visible policing throughout the holidays.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane says as the province is launching its safer festive season operations, they want to paint all towns in the province blue with their members’ presence.
Motswenyane says they will not tolerate those who break the law.
“What we have done, we have deployed all the members including the one in support services, so that they go out to paint our streets blue. The instruction is very much clear that after sunset the blue lights must be on until sunrise. Members are here because what I have done was to remind them of the mandate. Our mandate is communities must feel safe. And that is what we are going to do. Each and every one of our police officials, they are going to contribute towards that.”
