It is believed one of the vehicles was trying to overtake when it collided-head with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Four people have been killed and five others critically injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles along the Polokwane-Mogwadi road in Limpopo.

Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says one of the vehicles was trying to overtake when it collided-head with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Ngoepe says police have opened a case of culpable homicide.

“South African Police Service in Mogadwi outside Polokwane are investigating a case of culpable homicide after four people perished when their motor vehicle collided head on – two vehicles were traveling in opposite direction along Mogwadi and Polokwane, when one was  trying to overtake another car… until it collided head-on with the incoming one. During this accident, five other occupants of the two motor vehicles sustain serious injuries.”
