Popular radio DJ and former Ukhozi FM hos Vukani “Chilli M” Masinga has died after an illness. He joined Ukhozi FM in 2012.

Programme manager for Ukhozi FM, Zandile Tembe, says the country has lost someone with a special talent for radio.

She says Chilli M quickly excelled within the station and was moved to co-host to the daytime show ‘Nethezeka’ with Nonhlanhla ‘Mroza’ Buthelezi.

“It must be admitted that Chilli had a massive contribution to radio in South Africa as a whole. He did amazingly well, he was very special, his talent was quite peculiar, we are really saddened and we would like to pass our console to his family, his mother, his sibling his sisters and children. We agree and solemnly remember the role he played, in contributing to black radio particularly. We would like to really add our condolences to his family and lovers of radio in South Africa,” says Tembe.
