Former secretary of the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, Dr Khotso De Wee, has denied allegations that he received bribes from Bosasa to help secure contracts for the company at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development between 2008 and 2016.

At the time, De Wee was the chief operating officer in the department.

In 2019, former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi testified that De Wee helped to secure a lucrative contract worth around R600-million for Bosasa, subsidiary Sondolo IT Limited, to install control access system and CCTV cameras in buildings administered by the department, include court buildings across the country.

It is alleged the money was channelled to De Wee through a third party only known as Sesinyi Seopela.

De Wee took a special leave in 2019 when allegations of corruption surfaced against him.

However, De Wee has steadfastly denied the allegations as baseless.
