Former SABC Lesedi FM Station Manager passes away

Former SABC Lesedi FM Station Manager, Dirara Mokoena.

Former SABC Lesedi FM Station Manager, Dirara Mokoena has passed away. Family Spokesperson Reggie Mmotsi says Mokoena died from cancer in the hospital. 

64-year-old Mokoena retired from his station manager position in 2019.   

He started his career as an announcer at the then Radio Sesotho in 1983, before moving to television as the Sesotho Bulletin Editor. He was the first executive producer of the TV current affairs programme Leihlo la Sechaba.  

He was appointed as Lesedi FM station manager in May 2015.   

Mokoena leaves behind a wife and three children. He will be buried next week Saturday at Fourways in Johannesburg.
