South Africa’s first Idols winner in 2002, Heinz Winckler from Cape Town, has announced a shift towards Christian worship music and ministry work in his career.

The popular 40-year-old Afrikaans and English singer and guitarist says on his Facebook page that he has already begun to minister at churches, schools, charities and Christian events in South Africa.

Winckler says he shares his testimony and preaches from the Bible at these occasions, as well as performs music from his first Christian album, “The Roar”.

He says he wants to see lost people saved, saved people healed and healed people step into their God given callings.

He will soon also embark abroad to promote the contemporary worship album, produced in Nashville Tennessee, Germany and USA.
