Florida reports over 10 000 new cases of COVID-19 for sixth day in a row

Florida reported 10 347 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the sixth day in a row the state has announced over 10 000 new infections.

Florida reported 92 new deaths on Monday, bringing the state’s death toll to 5 183.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis encouraged individuals recovered from COVID-19 to donate their blood.

As he spoke in Orlando, a small group of protesters disrupted the briefing, shouting “Shame on you” and “You’re lying to the public.” Police removed the protesters.

The virus has killed 140 000 people in the United States and infected some 3.7 million, both figures leading the world.
