Five vehicles have been damaged following petrol bombing incidents in Nyanga on the Cape Flats in suspected taxi-related violence.

Two buses belonging to the Golden Arrow bus service and two trucks belonging to Eskom and the city of Cape Town respectively, as well as a solid waste truck belonging to the city have been damaged.

Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi says a 38-year-old man has been wounded but no one has been arrested

“Nyanga police registered two counts of arson and two counts of malicious damage to property for further investigation. Public order police, local police and other law enforcement agencies are on the scene monitoring the situation. The motive for the attack is unknown, though the possibility of it being taxi-related is under investigation,” says Swartbooi.
