Five men have been shot dead and another critically wounded at Ezakheni B section in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands.
The victims, who are between the ages of 25 and 30, were attacked in a house by unknown men in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police say the motive for the killing is not known at this stage and investigations are underway.
Police spokesperson Jay Naicker says: “It is alleged that unknown men entered a home when six people were inside. The suspects opened fire at the individual. All six were shot with a 9mm firearm.”
“Five passed away on the scene, one of them was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment. The motive for the attack is unknown. Members of the provincial task team are busy collecting evidence interviewing witnesses.”
