Five children have died in a shack fire in the Masiya informal settlement in Phillipi on the Cape Flats.
Cape Town Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Theo Layne says the fire destroyed 10 structures and left 30 people homeless.
It is not clear if all the children are related.
Last week, a man and three of his children died when a fire destroyed their home in Vrygrond near Muizenberg.
Layne says the causes of both of fires have not been established.
