Fire extinguisher explosion causes chaos’s in Algoa bus

An Algoa bus in PE experienced an explosion of a fire extinguisher, resulting in people or passengers running for their lives.

A total of 16 passengers have been rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries while trying to escape from a fire extinguisher explosion aboard a passenger bus in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

It’s alleged that the white powdery substance released by the fire extinguisher led to panic and chaos, with passengers breaking emergency exit windows.

Eastern Cape health department spokesperson Sizwe Khuphelo says, “This morning in Port Elizabeth outside New Brighton an Algoa bus experienced an explosion of a fire extinguisher, resulting in people or passengers running for their lives. When they tried to escape some of them sustained serious injuries, a total of 16 people were taken to hospital.
