The Freedom Front (FF) Plus has announced Advocate Anton Alberts as its Gauteng premier candidate. The announcement comes a few days before the launch of the party’s manifesto this Saturday.
Alberts is a Member of Parliament and the chairperson of the FF Plus.
Leader of the FF Plus, Pieter Groenewald, says it is important to have an experienced politician as a Gauteng premier candidate because of the importance of the province.
“The Freedom Front Plus sees Gauteng as a very important province for this coming election on 8 May. And the reason is that according to research there is quite a big possibility that the ANC will get less than 50% in this coming election in Gauteng. And if you listen to experts they all agree that you won’t get a single opposition party to get more than 50%. So the reality is there must be a coalition,” says Groenewald.
