Freedom Front Plus leader Pieter Groenewald has laid charges of intimidation and defeating the ends of justice against a Sedibeng East director of education Criselda Makhubela.
This emanates out of the Hoerskool Overvaal court case.
The High court in Pretoria set aside the Gauteng Education Department’s decision to place 55 English speaking learners at Overvaal an Afrikaans medium school.
Groenewald says during the case it emerged that two principals from neighbouring English medium schools indicated they had capacity for additional learners.
He claims the education director intimidated the principals into changing their statements to say they don’t have space.
Groenewald says the allegations against the education director constitutes a criminal offence.
“We also laying a charge of intimidation and instigation of perjury. These are very serious allegations against this director which was actually mentioned in the court. And therefore we say we expect the police to act in this to ensure that people must know that they cannot just break the law and get away with it.”
