Festus Mogae visited Albert Luthuli’s graveside in Groutville, KwaZulu Natal.

Former Botswana President Festus Mogae visited Albert Luthuli’s grave on Friday, a day before delivering the keynote address at the annual Chief Albert Luthuli Memorial lecture.

Mogae visited Luthuli’s graveside in Groutville, KwaZulu-Natal and laid a wreath there. He also visited Luthuli’s house which has now been converted into a museum.

2017 marks 50 years since Chief Albert Luthuli’s death on 21 July 1967.

Mogae will deliver the lecture at KwaZulu-Natal University on Saturday. The lecture will touch on issues on of democracy, development, economic prosperity, and the historical ties that bind Africa.
