The parking lot at the ANC’s policy conference in Midrand could easily be mistaken for a top shelf car dealership. Flashy top brand luxury vehicles are in abundance as delegates at the conference arrive in style. With many of the ANC’s top brass being flanked by top of the range security vehicles. Every petrol heads dream machine can be found lurking somewhere in Gallagher.
From the latest Mercedes SLK to an imported more than R1.5 million Maserati, the parking lot is a feast for the eyes. Even the personnel that are protecting the big wigs drive in style, with Audi Q7s and BMW X5s leading the pack as firm favourites.
An interesting observation is how the luxury of travelling around is not only extended to motor vehicles, loud motor bikes like Harley Davidson have become show stoppers outside the venue, “thrilling” onlookers.
