Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife reviews COVID-19 protocols following positive tests among employees

The Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wild Life says it has been forced to review housekeeping protocols for all of its resorts. This after a number of its employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

Ezemvelo’s spokesperson Musa Mntambo says the new protocols are an attempt to reduce the possibility of either the guests or employees contacting the virus.

Mntambo has also confirmed the temporary closure of Giant’s Castle Resort.

“We can also confirm the Giant’s Castle has had to close down following the testing positive of two of employees out of seven who undertook the test. We are still waiting for the results of the other five. The staff complement of Giant’s Castle is 26 people and although all those employees have been asked to self-isolate until we receive the results of the five who had tested together with the two.”

SA’s latest COVID-19 stats

South Africa’s cumulative number of coronavirus infections now stands at 1 214 176. 399 more people have succumbed to COVID-19 related complications bringing the national death toll at 32 824.

106 deaths have been recorded in the Western Cape, 96 in KwaZulu-Natal, 85 in the Eastern Cape, 69 in Gauteng, 15 in Mpumalanga, 11 in the Free State and five in Limpopo.
