The ANC’s top leadership has the envious task of convincing President Jacob Zuma to step down.

In 2008 when President Thabo Mbeki was recalled, this task fell to the then Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and the then Secretary General Gwede Mantashe.

On Sunday, David Mabuza, the party’s Deputy President, and Ace Magashule the Secretary General have the responsibility to convey a similar message to President Zuma.

Earlier, ANC Deputy Secretary General, Jessie Duarte, confirmed that the top six would meet with President Zuma late on Sunday. It’s understood that ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa won’t be part of the meeting.
