Everitt says Sharks ready for do-or-die Bulls tie

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Sharks have made three changes to their team to face the Blue Bulls in the final round-robin match of the 2019 Currie Cup campaign at Loftus this weekend.

The standout changes to the team sees Thomas du Toit and Andre Esterhuizen selected in the starting 15 after they were released from the Springboks squad.

Du Toit comes in for Mzamo Majola while Esterhuizen returns at 12 and co-captain, Jeremy Ward moves to the number 13 jersey.

In the other change, Coenie Oosthuizen comes in after missing last weekend’s match against the Golden Lions.

There is a lot riding on the match for both sides. The Sharks need to win to ensure they reach the knock-out stages.

The Bulls could still qualify for the business end , however, they will also try and avoid the relegation play-off match.

They are currently second from bottom and know that if they lose by seven points or more then they will finish the campaign rock bottom. Sharks coach Sean Everitt says their focus is on what they need to do to progress.

The Sharks have defended valiantly in the last two weeks and managed to use the ball well in attack.

Two rounds ago they faced an early exit but consecutive victories over the Free State XV and the Golden Lions have put them well in contention.

It is a must win game for Pote Human’s side and Everitt says that makes it easier for them to prepare. – Report by Thahir Asmal
