Sean Everitt feels privileged to have been given the opportunity to coach the Sharks in the 2020 Super Rugby season after he was handed the reins earlier this week.

The Currie Cup coach for the Durban side in the past few months, he will be assisted by attack coach, David Williams, while former Griquas coach, Brent Janse van Rensburg joins the technical team as forwards coach.

Everitt replaced Rob Du Preez at the end of the 2019 Super Rugby campaign and led the team to the semi-finals of the Currie Cup.

He has welcomed the chance to take the top coaching job at the franchise.

Throughout the Currie Cup campaign, Everitt spoke openly about growing the player pool at the franchise.

He says for the Sharks to compete for a first-ever Super Rugby title, a big group of players who will be able to hit the ground running will be needed.

And preparations for the upcoming Super Rugby season will be key. – Report by Thahir Asmal
