Residents of Emalahleni in Mpumalanga might experience electricity power supply cuts in the next few weeks.
The Emalahleni Municipality has failed to pay their debt of over R1 billion owed to Eskom.

“Initially our plan was to interrupt the power supply on the 20th of November but because we are negotiating in good faith, we gave them a bit more time. but unfortunately up until now we have not received or reach an agreement. So what you are saying now is that this Municipality because of non-payment. If they continue or we do not reach an agreement then on the 14th of December which is this month we are going to interrupt the power supply,” says Phasiwe.
