The country has seen days of nationwide load shedding.

Eskom is implementing stage 4 loadshedding from 10:00 on Monday morning. Earlier the power utility said that its systems are still highly constrained.

It says City Power in Johannesburg has warned that the power surges due to loadshedding is causing extensive damage to its infrastructure following an explosion at one of its sub-stations over the weekend.

Eskom spokesperson Dikatso Mothae has urged customers to continue using electricity sparingly.
