Eskom says the inclement weather in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape is putting the network at risk. Strong winds and heavy rain is being experienced in the Cape Metropole.
The weather service says they expect up to 40 millimetres of rain in some areas. The power utility says severe weather conditions can potentially cause electricity outages, leaving people without power for long periods of time.
