Eskom has confirmed that City Power has settled its electricity debt of more than R5.25 billion in full.
The settlement comes after intervention and a mediation process under the auspices of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

Eskom says in a statement that the final payment of more than R1.8 billion was received on Friday.
Following the full settlement, Eskom officially withdrew the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act process initiated on May 17, informing City Power of its intention to reduce or terminate electricity to supply points in the Johannesburg Metro.
