Eskom confident of positive results in wage talks

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Wage talks at Eskom have resumed on Wednesday morning.

The negotiations were adjourned last week, after management requested time out to consult with the Board on the union’s revised demand of a 9% wage increase.

This after workers rejected the power utility’s proposed wage offer of 4.7%.

Eskom Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says he is confident that the next three days of negotiations will yield positive outcomes for both unions and the company.

He says negotiations will continue until Friday and hopes the issue will finally be put to rest.
