The Johannesburg Emergency Medical Services (EMS) reported a fire incident at the Bree Street Taxi Rank in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.

The cause of one of the city’s busiest taxi commuter connection points is not yet known. Johannesburg Emergency Services personnel fought the blaze in the early hours of the morning.

“At this stage there are no injuries which have been reported. And the subject of the fire is still a detail of investigations, more details will follow,” said  EMS Spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, earlier on Saturday.

Mulaudzi says the fire has been extinguished.

Fire has been extinguished now damping down extinguishing the hot spots.
