Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) say they remain on high alert as heavy rains continue in parts of the city.
They are urging those in low-lying areas to exercise caution.
EMS Spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi says motorists should avoid flooded roads and keep a safe following distance.
“Try and avoid crossing roads and bridges which might have flooded overnight. And we urge our residents in our low-lying areas to monitor the water levels in those areas and also avoid crossing man-made bridges. We will remain on high alert monitoring all seven regions of the city to make sure that we can be able to respond to any water-related emergencies which might occur throughout the City of Johannesburg,” says Mulaudzi.
