North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo has finally suspended provincial health HoD, Dr Thabo Lekalakala.
The provincial government spokesperson, Brian Setswambung has confirmed the suspension. It follows the release of a preliminary report on forensic investigations Mahumapelo instituted at the health department over the Gupta- linked Mediosa Company.
The company which paid Lekalakala’s trip to India received a 30 million rand advance before rendering services.
Provincial spokesperson, Brian Setswambung says, “I can confirm that the reports are true. This follows the Premier receiving the report, preliminary report on the forensic investigations that’s been conducted and the findings indicate that there are serious matters and the Premier then took a decision on the head of department and has ordered that the disciplinary proceedings against the HOD must then commence.”
