Electoral Commission ready for the polls

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) is established by Law 8/2007 (Articles 1 – 3, Anexo 3). The CNE is responsible for supervising voter registration, the conduct of elections and holding of referenda (Law 8/2007, 2002, 2).
The CNE is an independent body subordinate only to the constitution.
The Commission consists of 13 members, which include a president João Leopoldo da Costa.
The National Electoral Commission (CNE) is responsible for ensuring voter registration and supervising elections and referenda.
The estimate of voters for the 2014 General elections stands at 12 203 717 this according to the National Institute of Statistics. Registered on the CNE voter registration roll has shown an 157,59% increase compared to registered in 2009.A total of 17 202 voting stations will be set up across Mozambique.
