In the 2019 elections the Good Party will be contesting the national and provincial elections in all nine provinces.

The party was formed in 2018.

The party leader is Patricia de Lille

These upcoming elections will be the party’s first election participation. Patricia de Lille was elected to Parliament as a member of the PAC in 1994, from which she broke away in 2003 and formed the Independent Democrats. In 2010 the ID merged with the Democratic Alliance (DA). She served as Mayor of Cape Town in the DA controlled local government in the Western Cape until October 2018, when she resigned from the DA and formed the Good Party.
