Lerato Monchusi who is an eight year old and from Kuruman and is in line to be competing at the Little Miss World beauty pageant in Turkey has turned to social media to raise funds for her dreams.

The Grade Four learner’s mentor, Nthabiseng Kgoronyane, says Monchusi needs at least R 125 000 for flights and accommodation for the ten days that she will compete for the crown in Turkey.

Kgoronyane who is a former model herself says the pageant is an opportunity for Monchusi to expand her world view.

“Entering into pageants gave me the perspective that you can use your beauty to change lives so your beauty must have a purpose. It must have an impact besides you walking down the ramp with people admiring you. It is the character that is the most important thing, it is what needs to be developed which is what you will use to impact the world,” said Kgoronyane.
