EFF wants the NCOP to pass a resolution on the closure of schools amid rising COVID-19 cases

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) wants the National Council of Provinces to pass a resolution on the closure of schools due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The EFF has brought a notice for such a motion to be debated and resolved to close the schools.

Gauteng and the Northern Cape are among the two provinces which had seen a rising number of COVID-19 infections among learners recently.

EFF member of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Mmabatho Mokause brought the notice at the NCOP virtual sitting on Wednesday.
