Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members have walked out of the North West Legislature during Premier Supra Mahumapelo’s budget speech, demanding that its motion of no confidence debate against him be allowed to take place.

The EFF is demanding answers from the speaker of the legislature regarding its motion.

Mahumapelo is delivering his Budget speech amidst calls against him from opposition parties and members of the community for him to step down.

EFF leader at the legislature Betty Diale says, “ You may be aware that as the EFF we have filed a motion against the premier of North West. We cannot legitimise the budget of the premier. We don’t want the premier to receive even a cent from the tax-payers’ money.”

Diale says, “ We want the debate on the premier’s motion of no confidence against him. We don’t want corruption, we don’t want him to get a cent because we know that he is going to channel it to his corrupt things, he is going to channel it to his wife, to his friends.  So we don’t want the premier to get a cent from this province.”
