EFF members make preparations ahead of the party's Siyabonga rally.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has embarked on a thanksgiving drive-by slaughtering five cows ahead of its Siyabonga rally tomorrow.

The ceremony is being led by the party leader, Julius Malema in Tembisa on Gauteng’s East Rand.  The party won about 10% of the votes nationwide in this year’s local government elections.

It says it is thanking voters and EFF volunteers for their support.

There is a hive of activity in Tembisa:

On Tuesday, Malema announced that the party’s negotiations with the African National Congress in some hung councils had failed.

EFF vows not to work with ANC in hung municipalities:

Parties including the Freedom Front Plus and the Democratic Alliance have refused to enter into coalition governments with the country’s third-largest party.
