EFF consults lawyers on legality of dissolving Parliament

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says it is consulting its lawyers on the legality of dissolving Parliament.

The party walked out of the sitting of the National Assembly before Cyril Ramaphosa was elected President of the country.

Party leader Julius Malema says Parliament must be dissolved because the Constitutional Court found it guilty over the Nkandla saga.

Malema says they don’t want to legitimise the election of Ramaphosa.

“We have already instructed our lawyers to try and look at the legal implications of what these guys are doing here and whether we cannot approach the court to insist that this Parliament should dissolve and go and get a mandate,” says Malema.
