EFF in Mpumalanga says it wants to see Tersius Peterson in court.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Mpumalanga has on Thursday assisted the Zitha family to lay a murder charge at the Nelspruit Police Station against Tersius Peterson.

This is after Peterson’s domestic worker died at his property two weeks ago, and he allegedly failed to inform the police about the incident until the body was taken to a mortuary.

The EFF says it suspects that Peterson might have assaulted the victim to death.

The EFF’s provincial leader Collen Sedibe says they want the matter to be properly investigated.

“When a person dies you have to inform the police first and make all the necessary arrangements with the family for them to come and pick up the body because the cause for the death is important in the death certificates and other papers. So, he didn’t do that. That makes us suspicious that he is the one who killed that domestic worker.”

The EFF says for that, they want Peterson to have his day in court.

“We want see Mr Peterson here in court to answer for his sins and if needs be, he must rot in jail because we are quite sure that he is the one who murdered that employee. According to the family, the body has sustained some injuries.”

Meanwhile, Tersius Peterson says the deceased died of natural causes according to the doctor who certified her dead. He says his employee had a chronic illness.

“My gardener came and knocked at the door at  7 o’clock Monday morning. He said to me Thandi is lying outside between her room and the bathroom. I went there, looked at her then I phoned Hictec Security. They came with the armed response and they called an ambulance. The ambulance came then with a doctor and the doctor declared her dead there. I was away at the weekend. I came back on Sunday night and found that on Monday morning she had High Blood Pressure.”
