South Africa has reached a turning point and needs to act decisively to protect its finances.
That’s the bold message from Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene. He tabled his first Medium Term Budget Policy Statement Wednesday.
It contains a raft of measures aimed at curbing spending and boosting tax collections. The Minister also wants stricter management of parastatals after announcing a 20 billion rand bailout package for Eskom.
