Eastern Cape MEC Nomakhosazana Meth tests positive for COVID-19

Eastern Cape Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC Nomakhosazana Meth has tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a statement, the Office of the Premier says, MEC Meth is in self-isolation at her home.

Spokesperson for the Premier, Mvusiwekhaya Sicwetsha, says Meth will continue with her duties.

“She has decided to work from home during her 10 day period of isolation required for infection control and to prevent the spread of the virus. The Premier spoke to MEC Meth and on behalf of the Eastern Cape government and wished her a speedy recovery during this period. Because MEC Meth will be working from home Premier Mabuyane  will not be appointing an acting MEC in the department.”
