Community leaders in the Dzumeri village, where special votes were disrupted as some voting stations did not open on Tuesday, say their election boycott has ended.

Over 70 registered special voters did not cast their votes in the area.’

In a statement released Tuesday night, community leaders under the Mageva-Makhuva Tar Committee say they met with officials from the Road Agency in Limpopo and the provincial Public Works department.

The statement states that both government entities made a commitment that though the current budget can only provide for the construction three of the 37-kilometeres that communities are protesting for but the entire stretch of road is being prioritised.

Police presence remains high in the area.
