Dyantjie would not have made the squad: Erasmus

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus reiterated that embattled Springboks winger Aphiwe Dyantjie would not have made the Rugby World Cup squad irrespective of his recent shock of a positive urine test sample for banned substances.

Dyantjie, who dominated headlines ahead of Monday World Cup squad announcement, reportedly failed his A sample and has since asked for a B sample test.

Erasmus named only three outright wingers in Makazole Maphimpi, Sbu Nkosi and Cheslin Kolbe in his squad with the latter also covering as a fullback.

Centre Jesse Kriel will also be expected to cover wing if need be with Frans Steyn cover both center positions and flyhalf.

Erasmus explains the value of having an experienced utility back like Steyn at the World Cup.
