A Durban Metro Police officer has sustained multiple injuries after he was hit by a taxi in Chatsworth, in the south of Durban.
Advanced Life Support Paramedic spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says the man was stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital.
“Paramedics responded to the Moorton Shopping Centre, where a Metro policeman had been knocked down by a taxi. Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the seriously injured officer lying on the roadway. Paramedics worked to stabilise the policeman believed to be in his thirties on the scene, who had sustained multiple injuries before he was rushed to a nearby hospital for the further urgent care that he required. It is believed that a taxi driver has been arrested by Metro Police. SAPS and Metro Police were in attendance, and both will investigate further.”

Metro Policeman struck by taxi at Moorton Shopping Centre, Chatsworth. ALS Paramedics rushed to the scene, finding the officer seriously injured. He was stabilised on scene and transported to a nearby hospital. The taxi driver is believed to have been arrested by Metro Police.
