Two female Johannesburg Metro Police Officers have been killed and two other officers injured when a drunken driver crashed into a road block along Witkoppen road in Paulshof, north of Johannesburg.
The vehicle also crashed onto other vehicles that had been stopped at the roadblock causing injuries to the motorists.
Metro police spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane says the driver has been arrested.
“Last night Metro Police were conducting road side check, where they were checking drunken drivers. Whilst they were busy there there was a double cab that came, slammed onto the vehicles that they had stopped. The driver of that bakkie was arrested for drinking and driving, and reckless and negligence and blood was taken from him and he was detained at the Sandton SAPS.”
