The long-awaited announcement of the results of last week’s DRC presidential election, promised for Sunday, will be postponed to next week. That’s according to the head of the electoral commission.

Commission President Corneille Nangaa claims they are not ready to publish results – but are making progress.

The Kabila led regime has been accused of clinging to power and attempting to rig the poll. Some early predictions had handed victory to the opposition in the national elections.

Strongman Joseph Kabila has ruled the mineral rich central African nation for 18-years.
