Dr Max Coleman’s memorial service to be held in Cape Town on Wednesday

A candle burns at a memorial.

A memorial service will be held in Cape Town on Wednesday afternoon for struggle activist Dr Max Coleman. He died last month at the age of 95.

Coleman was a former Human Rights Commissioner and also founded the Kagiso Trust in 1985 with the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, the late Dr Beyers Naudé and the Reverend Allan Boesak.

Speakers at the service will include his grandchild Miles Coleman, Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and the Reverend Frank Chikane.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is also expected to attend the memorial service.

The Coleman Family and Kagiso Trust are hosting a memorial service to honour Dr Max Coleman on Wednesday 9 February, 15h00-17h00, to remember and celebrate the life of our dear, departed Max Coleman.
