Doctor Khumalo takes the reins at Baroka FC

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Baroka FC Technical Director Doctor Khumalo will be in charge of coaching the team in their last two games of the season. It is believed that stand-in Coach McDonald Makhubedu stepped down as head coach after complaining about the interference in player selection, and has refused to attend Saturday’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

In their latest match, Baroka lost away to relegation threatened Ajax Cape Town.

The club says  Makhubedu was asked to step down because of the team’s recent poor results and will now take Khumalo’s place as a Technical Director.

Baroka was one of the pacesetters in the league earlier this season, but have since dropped to 11th spot on the log. The club officially parted ways with former coach Kgoloko Thobejane in March after he was suspended.
